From the Office December 2017
Members are reminded that the TCA Inc office closes at 12 noon Tuesday 19 December 2017 and will reopen at 10 am Monday 8 January 2018.
On behalf of Judy, Debbie and myself, I thank those members who have given us their support over the past 12 months; it has been greatly appreciated and wish all members a happy and safe festive season.
The TCA Inc Council is seeking a member in each of the telephone areas to be responsible
for the issuing and return of defibrillators that the Association is considering purchasing.
Anyone interested should contact the TCA Inc office for full details.
Show 26/1/2018 start time
Exhibitors at the Tasmanian Toy Dog Club fixture 26 January 2018 are advised that the
show will commence at the conclusion of Group 1 at Western Tiers Kennel Club fixture
that is being held on that day.
Breeders of French & British Breeder to read
Breeders of British and French Bulldogs are advised that The TCA Inc Council has determined that any puppies being placed on the Main Register must be inspected by two qualified judges prior to registration.
Breeders are requested to organise the inspection when the puppies have been microchipped allowing at least seven days for the inspection to be organised. Inspections will be conducted in Launceston and Glenorchy.
Members are advised that a dedicated email address is available for member feedback
ANKC Ltd Rule Reviews – Endurance, Tracking and Track and Search
A meeting to discuss the submissions from each state is scheduled for Saturday 10 February,
2018 at the MILE Centre, Oatlands. Endurance at 9am and Tracking/Track and Search from
10am. The submissions have been posted on the ANKC Ltd website, please bring your
own copies to the meeting.
Dogs Tasmania Member Facebook Page
Members are reminded there is a member’s only page on Facebook. To apply you need
to click on the ‘Join’ button. You will then be messaged by Trudi Counsell or Di Nellis
and asked to supply a photo of your current membership card. Once supplied, you will
be added. If you do not reply to the message within 14 days – your application will be
removed – but you can reapply at any time.
Use of Dogs Tasmania Logo approval
Members wishing to use the Dogs Tasmania logo for any purpose must request approval from the TCA Inc Council.
Leaving Ring to seek shelter approved
The TCA Inc Council has given approval for exhibitors to leave the ring to seek shelter
provided they do not hold up judging.
Reporting Dog Aggression at TCA fixtures
Members are reminded of TCA Inc Regulation 41, hereunder stated:
Duty to Report. It shall be the duty of any Judge, Steward, Club or Show Official
officiating at any TCA Inc sanctioned fixture, or any other witness to report to the Event
Manager or other person responsible for the organisation of the fixture any incident
which comes to his/her attention where any exhibit displays canine aggression towards
any person or any other animal to such an extent as to constitute a danger to any
person or any other dog or the efficient conduct of the fixture. Such report shall be
made within one hour of the alleged canine aggression taking place unless the
complainant is physically unable to make the complaint. A report under this Regulation
is not considered to be a complaint in accordance with Regulation 96.
Junior Handler Donation thanks
On behalf of the TCA Inc Junior Handlers Committee I thank Ali Tabrett and Terry Collicutt
for the donations that they made to this committee. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
