Information for Breeders/members –
My name is Katrina Moon, and I am a veterinarian and PhD candidate at The University of Queensland. As part of my PhD, I am conducting a study investigating hearing loss in dogs. The study aims to explore how dog breeders in Australia perceive, identify, and respond to hearing loss and deafness in dogs and puppies.
As part of this research, we have developed a short (approximately 20-minute), anonymous online survey designed specifically for registered breeders. The goal is to better understand breeders’ knowledge, experiences, and practices regarding canine hearing health. We welcome all input, regardless of experience with deafness or hearing loss, and value all perspectives on the topic.
I am writing to seek your assistance in sharing the survey with your members or community, via your website, social media channels, newsletter, or any other platform you consider appropriate.
Included info :
- The Participant Information Sheet for breeders, outlining the purpose of the study, what participation involves, and how participant data will be handled confidentially. (.pdf)
- An anonymous Survey Link to the survey:

This project has received approval from The University of Queensland Human Research Ethics Committee (Approval Number: 2025/HE001293).
Thank you for considering this request. I would be very grateful for your support in helping to reach the breeder community.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or require further information. I would be very grateful for your support in helping to reach the breeder community.
