With great regret, Dogs Australia must announce Dr Roger Lavelle’s retirement as
Chief Panellist and reader for the Dogs Australia Canine Hip and Elbow Dysplasia
Scheme.
The other readers listed on the website will continue to be available and in the
near future there will be new radiologists joining the scheme.
This change will occur from 1 July 2026.
We wish Dr Lavelle and his wife Annie a very happy, healthy and long retirement
and thank him for his outstanding contribution to the training of veterinary
surgeons in Australia over many years and to the health and welfare of all dogs,
including Dogs Australia registered dogs and countless service dogs through the
Australian Veterinary Association hip and elbow scheme and subsequently the
Dogs Australia CHEDS.
