In response to correspondence sent to Qantas regarding the carriage of brachyephalic breeds they have advised that they are able to open up travel for brachycephalic breeds from another six domestic ports – Canberra, Cairns, Coolangatta, Hobart, Launceston and Townsville – for travel from 27 Jul 2020. New bookings can be made from now on.
Qantas have advised that the following conditions apply:
- All pets – including brachycephalic breeds – must be at least 12 weeks old
- Travel must be on Qantas flights only – no transfers to or from other carriers
- Travel must be booked through a Qantas Freight-approved pet travel specialist (can be found on the Qantas website https://freight.qantas.com/pets/brachycephalic-breeds.html
- It is the responsibility of the pet travel specialist to manage all aspects of the pet booking including the lodgement and collection
